Cryptography governance across the region

- Drive significant change programmes, deploy end-user encryption across the company staff, remediate operations issues.

- Prioritise and communicate the most critical issues to fix and ensure sufficient management and technical focus is brought to bear on them.

- Ensure that new programmes implement cryptography in a controlled fashion that will integrate with operational requirements.

- Lead the coordination and production of evidence required to support audit and attestation requirements



Rigour and operational integrity of day-to-day operations

- Develop and improve operational processes and procedures

- Ensure that all sensitive operations are fully scripted, observed, recorded, monitored and evidenced to exceptionally high standards to satisfy both internal and external audits and regulatory reviews

- Ensure that cryptography is operated inline with laws and regulations

- Implement checking mechanisms to ensure operational standards and rigour do not slip in any location

- Ensure evidence is routinely available to prove compliance to regulatory and payment bodies attestations

- Implement technical and procedural measures to improve the efficiency of operations.

- Implement plans to manage incidents, including potential key compromise.

- Liaise regularly with internal audit to ensure they are close to all developments and issues.

- Ensure a schedule is maintained of all critical keys, their business owners and regular rollovers scheduled (or exceptions appropriately authorised).

- Ensure a schedule is maintained of all critical operational activities, and formal records maintained and reported, and exceptions quickly raised.



Cryptography Service Delivery

- Build a team of cryptography specialists to support both operational activities and new project deployments.

- Examples of technical support required for project and operational activities include:

>Technical administration of key management systems.

> New key definitions.

> Technical input to process and procedure production and review

> Support to certificate production and configuration.

> Configuration, installation and support for new projects.

> Project design support.

> 24x7 support to incident and problem resolution.



Consultancy on cryptography requirements on technology and business change initiatives.

- Maintenance of a register of applications utilising HSMs and how they use them.

- Implementation of aggressive SLAs for all cryptography operational activities - agreement with business areas and monitoring for performance

- True lifecycle management for all cryptography systems and components.

- Developing and maintaining effective relationships with key suppliers

- Implementation and maintenance of a service acceptance function to ensure service considerations (such as business ownership, operational procedures, information on usage, key compromise plans) are fully implemented before cryptographic systems are taking into live support.

- Lead coordination and resolution of service-affecting incidents.
