Multinational company from the Energy Services sector seeks to hire on a project basis an experienced lawyer qualified in Spain as legal counsel to advise on a wide range of matters. The candidate would join company\'s projects as it establishes and expands its presence in the Spanish energy market and must be able to appreciate the legal issues that arise from international corporate transactions.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



" Formation, maintenance and administration of operating and project or special purpose entities

" Conduct legal due diligence related to the development of solar energy facilities throughout Spain (with a special focus on real estate matters such as leasing and the acquisition of rights of way, and on environmental and permitting issues), and draft and negotiate all related agreements.

" Draft and negotiate cooperation or joint venture agreements with local partners.

" Assist the company with respect to tax matters and financing transactions

" Manage outside law firms.

" Provide legal counsel on issues arising from actual or anticipated lawsuits.

" Anticipate and guard against legal risks facing the company

" Develop and recommend company policy and position on legal issues

" Conduct and coordinate research into a variety of legal issues



" Write, review, and edit reports, opinions, correspondence, articles, and other documents

QUALIFICATIONS

" Minimum of 5 to 8 years experience at a reputable law firm or company, preferably in the construction or energy sectors.

" Capacity to work under time pressure

" Thoroughness and initiative

" Ability to operate sensitively in multicultural environment and develop effective working relations with colleagues and clients across office locations and time zones

" Excellent interpersonal skills

" Fluency in English and Spanish including a demonstrated skill to draft and negotiate contracts in these languages

" Law degree from a leading university in Spain, post-graduate law degree a plus.
